Renascent Development

In the next version of Anamnesis, you'll be able to spend insights to permanently increase a chosen renascent's stats for all following cycles until you start a new game from scratch.

Each insight spent this way will give the selected renascent a random one out of 3 unique personal developments, increasing their stats, changing their attacks and a few flavour text lines. These developments won't fix all the defining flaws of these renascents because that would make them boring and if anything that would be more worthy of an hypothetical endgame. Nonetheless, most renascents will eventually acquire at least one superhuman ability, with some of them eventually becoming able to face entire armies on their own.

When a renascent has unlocked all 3 developments, they'll instead earn 47 Experience with each new insight invested in them. Players also have the chance to spend insights on themselves for 47 Experience. You don't get big stat boosts like other renascents, but you can always go out and explore territories to get them.

It would be pretty one sided however if it was only your renascents that developed in this way though, so random enemy renascents will also earn a new development with each passing cycle. I'm considering my options regarding this issue because players will naturally tend to focus their development on whichever renascent they bond with, while the enemy will simply scatter slight improvements over all 14 of them.

I'm tempted to add more persistent nemeses or something like that, but I have to be careful about its execution or you'll simply make Feelias your nemesis every time and spend the game laughing at his face.

    1. Thank you! It does make me happy to know that people have continued to follow the game despite the dry spells.

As far as I'm concerned, long time Anamnesis players are all amazing persons, but then again I'm probably a little biased there.
