Developing renascents turned out to require a relatively large amount of under the hood work, mostly because of my own poor coding choices in the past.
The most laborious part was probably teaching the game to actually update friendly units' stats when necessary for the purpose of projects and such. For convenience, players will also now be able to keep track of these upgrades from each renascent's description screen.
So far, about a third of the renascents had their developments written. They deserve distinct and meaningful developments though, so I'm going to be deliberately slow and think each one carefully instead of just rushing them off, giving myself time in advance to reconsider them all.
I wouldn't feel comfortable just staring at the screen blankly all that time though, so I will also be sprinkling new content like lobbies and such in the meantime.
