Increased Control Over Social Contexts

In the next version of Anamnesis, players will have limited control over social contexts, allowing these to be tweaked and balanced out to a limited degree.

The issue of having two contexts affecting weariness and thus making the game too hard was raised again, so instead of tweaking things again, I decided to go for a hopefully more permanent solution. Starting a new advanced game, for starters, will now show you which 3 random social contexts you'll play with and allow you to discard them as many times as you want until you get a combination you like, whether you're looking for balance or extra challenge.

When winning a cycle, the player will also get to pick which existing context the new one will replace, or simply decide to discard the new one altogether. When losing, a random context is replaced with a new one. The game will not prioritize older contexts for replacement anymore to make these choices more interesting.

While continuing with the revision of renascents, I also made the hard choice to slightly change Akhdan the Maimed, historically my least favourite renascent because of how dull he turned out. Whereas other renascents are simply having their stats tweaked or their character built upon with the new actions, Akhdan has changed in a significant way to become a little more interesting. Instead of simply swinging a sledge hammer around, he now uses his mechanical knowledge to craft himself body armours and a variety of more or less successful gadgets and weapons to attach to his mutilated arm.

He was in a similar but even worst situation to that of The Sniping Moss, basically being a monster-of-the-week suddenly finding himself a recurrent character. I hated changing a character but it had to be done this one last time. Renascents will continue to be built upon in future versions but it is very unlikely that such drastic changes to their existing material will happen again.
