I never quite liked how allied lobbies send units to capture enemy territories and it is you that ends up having to defend them against counter-attacks, so in the next version of Anamnesis these lobbies will occasionally leave garrisons and, even if that fails, you'll just be able to forfeit the territory.
Temporary Garrisons, consisting on the lobbies' units, will be as available as there are allied lobbies, meaning that the starting situation with 3 allies lobbies and 3 enemy ones will give you about a 50% chance that you'll be shown an extra unit when defending a territory. Entrusting the defence to these lobby units will be free of charge, and doing so will even lower Local Tension by 10, since you wouldn't be directly involved in the conflict.
Forfeiting a territory will lower Local Tension by 20 instead, but will obviously instantly have you lose said territory. The good thing about it is that now you won't have to send a cowardly unit hoping it will scram anymore when you want to get rid of useless territories, so that's another load off Feelias' back.
None of these options will be available when defending your homebase though, you'll still have to pay in favours if you want other lobbies defending it, but this change should nonetheless make buffer territories somewhat more useful.
Other than that, following a recent suggestion, depending on how well you did in business or love in a given cycle, you'll now also get the option to choose a lower base or even to start as an outcast at the beginning of the following cycle rather than be forced to play with a Fortress or such while still keeping the Arkhe you would normally get in those situations.
You'll also see the starting descriptions for governor, outcast, and such roles changed to better guide new players. People are hard but now I realize I was probably in the wrong encouraging them to try playing as outcasts first.
As an aside, you might have noticed I haven't made any progress some of these past few days. Apparently that's the way it's going to be in this new line of work, so don't be too worried if you suddenly see a week or so of inactivity every now and then, that'll probably just mean I'm a little farther from starving.
