Job Offers, Rewards, Invitations, Sales and Varying Quality of Goods

Somebody argued a while ago that it was hard for adventurers to find a steady source of income, and I think they were right, so I've been pondering about features to add to the next version after this one to make things easier for them. However, a few days ago I came up with something that would require no new content, should make things a little easier for adventurers and at the same time should give them some sense of direction.

Now you will get another new information screen for "Current Affairs", which will be mostly empty for this release but will house more information about upcoming features in future releases. In this screen you'll be shown the owner of the current strategic advantage and the ongoing job offers, sales and other such chances.

With certain regularity dependent on the Societal Development value of the colony and how many aristocrats you keep contact with, you'll be notified of these job offers, rewards, and chances at the beginning of each turn. These are simply a selection of actions within the available territories of the colony, many of them starting by "Work as a..." or "Buy...", which will be available in each visit you make to that territory for a given number of weeks.

For example, you might get a message telling you that work as an assistant shoemaker will be in high demand at Shoemaker Street for 8 weeks. This will mean that during these 8 weeks the job will be available whenever you visit the territory and your payment will be double the usual amount. You will less often get similar messages about larger one time rewards for some less common tasks and things you can buy at a discount, allowing you to buy them whenever you visit the territory within those weeks at half the usual price. Invitations are just regular events opened up for the player during the given weeks with not particularly increased reward, such as parties and competitions.

All these events will be available for players even if they don't meet the usual requirements, such as having a certain original character type or level in a stat. An important caveat however is that when your character does something for a reward, any other profit or Merit will go to the person offering the reward instead of your character.

I also made a small change to the acquisition of furniture, weapons and such. Since repeating buying actions was generally discouraged because you'd get the same practical result but with a different flavour, from now on about 1 out of 5 times you'll get a slightly better item. This means that, for example, when scavenging old tools with a Short Range value of generally 10, you might sometimes find one of value 15.
