Corridor Diplomacy and Difficulty Escalation

In the next version of Anamnesis, court votings will occasionally allow your avatar spare time to approach other aristocrats so you can put them in your pocket.

Each lobby is now linked to one kind of reputation (Philanthropist, Hedonist or Ruthless) and will only react positively during these approaches if your perceived reputation matches. If they like you, you'll get a small amount of favours from them, something in between 0.2 and 0.8. If you get free time before a voting but chose not to approach any lobby, you can instead press your case among the independent aristocrats to achieve a small amount of Merits instead ( between 0.1 and 0.3), so it's a win-win situation.

That's the good news. The bad news is that there will be a slight increase in difficulty while collecting the pieces of the relic. The more pieces you have, the harder it'll be, and failure will result in an increase of Local Tension of 15 points. I know it's mean but let's face it, it was too easy to assemble the relics.

On the plus side, I'm working on allowing the players to do more things with relics, but that's still a little sketchy yet.

  1. It was way too easy to get the relics together in comparison with other methods of winning - that's good to hear it will be tougher.

    1. Yep, relics are supposed to be the easiest way to win, but they were rather uneventful during the mid to late game.

We'll see if they require more spicing up once I start seriously testing them in their current iteration.
