In the next version of Anamnesis, you won't have to wait for the enemy to destroy your homebase to become an outcast, having the option to temporarily leave your homebase behind and embrace the glamorous fugitive lifestyle.
You'll be able to do this by visiting a territory, going to the "Other actions" menu, which is how we'll call the former "Abilities" menu from now on, and choosing to temporarily leave your homebase to settle or hide in that territory. It'll cost you 1 Merit to give everything up and go on the run like such an irresponsible ally, but Local Tension will drop by 20 and otherwise you'll be able to return to your previous homebase whenever you get a chance to leave the territory, be that a refuge or a fortress. You'll even keep your money and everything else.
This will be a great way to get yourself out of the way and hunker down when things get ugly. I also enjoyed the story crafting potential. Preparedness is conserved so you can feel all fuzzy like I did going back to live in the fishing ship off the coast of Hieronhorte that first sheltered me while still having preferential treatment with my old buddy the ship's captain. You could even do something like spark a war, turn yourself in on the nearest forced labour camp, set up your own prison gang and watch the world burn from the safety and comfort of your cell while others do most of the work for you.
Depending on how a bunch of other unrelated things develop, I'll probably have this wrapped up as a release before the end of the year.
