In the next version of Anamnesis, renascents will undergo mood changes over time, slightly modifying their actions and performance.
Each renascent will have 5 new moods. One of them will be negative and slightly more frequent than the others, leading to under-performance, more negative events and/or more arguing, potentially including the abandonment of the cause by the renascent, except if the given renascent is bonded. This negative mood will work as a sort of affliction, meaning the player will be able to fix it investing a certain amount of a given resource much like their own afflictions.
The other 4 moods will be more neutral, with some being more on the slightly positive side or slightly negative side and having no associated under-performances, but the player won't be able to change them. Therefore, if for example our good friend Rhodeghass takes on the habit of binge eating when angry rather than rampaging, the flavour of events change and you can expect less allied casualties from him, but more messy, outwardly manifested indigestions to clean up after, giving the enemy occasional advantages.
All renascents will start new games in their normal state, but over time even enemy renascents or unmet ones will go through these moods and phases, which will stay in place a random, usually large number of weeks even through game cycles.
This should help renascents feel more human and continue to surprise the player for longer. Each mood will have a few new spontaneous events and 1 new "Stay at home" action along with some other flavour text. Depending on these moods, the frequency and availability of other normal actions will also vary to make things more interesting. Overall, coming up with 5 different moods for each one will be a fun exercise.
It's a bit of a tall order, but ideally, with this and more future renascent content, the aim would be to bring an element of slice of life into the game, allowing players if they so desire to forget about the relics and still have some fun living a relatively ordinary life.
