On Banging my Head Against a Wall and Being Busy

The new renascents were finished a few weeks ago and the results were satisfactory for the most part, over the past few days I've been adding some flavour text for bonded renascents as well.

As previously mentioned however, I don't really know why but trying to make these bonded characters become more interactive is proving to be a surprisingly unpleasant and frustrating experience. I've been trying different approaches, doing and undoing systems because none of them felt quite right and because I don't want to be stuck with a(nother) lousy game mechanic that can't later be changed.

The most likely scenario at this point is that I'll probably finish adding the flavour text for bonded renascents, put the most complex bits aside for the time being and start adding other things, maybe after making another relatively small release.

I'd also like to point out that I've started being busy again and will continue to be busy at least until July because of that whole not starving thing. It's unlikely that development will get any slower during this time however since it's already halted to a minimum because of these hurdles.

  1. Good luck! I sympathize with the frustration of attempting to add a complex system to a game. No easy way to go about it. I look forward to the next release whenever it comes out!
