Combined Forces

I couldn't keep myself from squeezing one last feature in for the next release, as it is something that many of you have asked for.

Some proposed me to add the ability to attach renascents as commanders for regular units so they won't be as fragile in combat. Instead I'm going to allow players the option to deploy all available forces at once at the cost of 1 merit.

Their values will not sum up, but the resulting combined army will instead have those of the highest ranking units of the lot for each value. Not only that, but you won't be able to lose units in this way and, since they will always include a renascent (your own character), they won't suffer damage penalties fighting against monsters.

Their downside will be their cost on merits to represent both the general aristocracy's scorn for a violence escalation and the extent of your own credibility when coordinating several units.

This will also make combat more accessible for adventurers. For example, a good set of renascents with high values combined with an inexpensive but high resistance unit such as a bunch of miners, will be able to at least keep at bay most military detachments.

There are still a few limiting factors however. Most notably, combined armies will always acquire your affinities, so if your character is diurnal and nivharian, a lone unit might in some instances fight better in nocturnal non-nivharian environments than combined armies under your command.
